How Long Will I Be Bankrupt for in Manitoba?

Several factors affect how long you will be bankrupt for in Manitoba.

You are entitled to be discharged from bankruptcy after only nine months if you are only a first time bankrupt, if you complete all of your necessary duties while bankrupt, and if your trustee or your creditors are not against your discharge.

Unfortunately, if you have been bankrupt before, you are not eligible for an automatic discharge from bankruptcy after nine months. Your bankruptcy will be lengthened for a period of time that will be determined by the bankruptcy court.
